Welcome to the Diocese of York in the Church of England.

Through its parishes, the Diocese of York serves an area of England spread between the rivers Humber and Tees and from the east coast of Yorkshire to the foot of the Dales.

The Diocese of York is a family of 475 parishes committed to the praise of God through Jesus Christ and service to others, led and guided in their Christian faith and work by the Archbishop of York.

The Diocese of York is led by the Archbishop of York, assisted by the Bishops of Selby, Hull and Whitby and the Archdeacons of York, Cleveland and the East Riding. It is administered from Diocesan House on the north side of York. The Diocese of York is a worshipping community of faith, full of life and colour, and some of that life and colour may be glimpsed through this site.
