MAP Reading - final report on Living the Gospel and Mission Action Plans by the Revd Paul Wordsworth

08 February 2008

The Revd Paul Wordsworth retired as Archbishop's Adviser in Mission and Evangelism at the end of November 2007, and so laid down his leadership of the 'Living the Gospel' project and its associated programme of Mission Action Action Plans which was launched by Archbishop David Hope in 2001.

"In 2001, I took over the MAPs programme from Canon John Young, who had skilfully prepared the first round as a non-threatening invitation to which parishes could respond. I gratefully acknowledge that he sowed seeds which I later harvested.

"It was my privilege to work for Archbishop David, who readily made time for me to regularly update him on the progress of MAPs and the information being produced to assist Diocesan strategy.

"More recently, Archbishop Sentamu has given me encouragement and space to complete the MAPs2 work, and I am grateful for his insights and leadership."
