Nursery finds permanent home at last

Kirkby and Great Broughton Church of England School is delighted to welcome onto the school grounds, a dedicated home for Kirkby & Great Broughton nursery. Having been without a permanent location since 2003 this represents fantastic news for the whole community.

Footpaths are in place, outdoor activity trails are ordered and the Friends of the Nursery have even ordered the blinds! Sandra Burgess, Deputy Nursery Manager, was overwhelmed as the building arrived on an autumnal morning under the backdrop of the Cleveland Hills. Mrs Burgess commented, "It's down to the dedicated work of all of the friends of our nursery that we have finally achieved our dream".

Dr Nicola Harrison, Chair of Governors, said, "It is wonderful that we can now have a closer working relationship between school and nursery. Parents and children will be a part of the school working, playing and socialising together during their time at nursery, easing the moment when their children start "big" school."

Although the building is now here there is no time to rest as the nursery prepares for its projected opening date of January 2010. This is wonderful news of course for the youngest children in the area. Mrs Kelly, Nursery Proprietor, said, "I cannot thank everybody involved enough for this opportunity which has been the answer to all my prayers".
