The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, celebrated the 4th anniversary of his enthronement on Monday 30th November by saying the Litany in St Cuthbert’s Chapel at York Minster.
Dr Sentamu said, “I have had a memorable 4 years serving the people in this Diocese and would like to thank the people of Yorkshire for their support over this time. I look forward to continuing my work here as there is still so much to do.
“This Advent I would like to invite people to join me in saying the Litany from Common Worship (as adapted) and the Prayer of General Thanksgiving from the Book of Common Prayer as part of their daily prayers."
“The Litany may be used as part of, or instead of the Intercessions. At Morning Prayer the General Thanksgiving can be used at the end, and in the Eucharist it may replace the Post-Communion Prayer when using Common Worship.
“My prayer times will be morning, midday and evening. Please pray with me. I wish everyone a blessed and prayerful Advent.”
