The Church Of Saint Michael

It is said that the Church Of St Michael was given to St Mary's Abbey by William the Conqueror but the catalogue of rectors does not begin until 1255. Before entering the church notice the ornate clock on the wall facing Low Ousegate.

Picture Of The Church Of St Michael St Michael's has been sensitively converted to a Christian Centre selling freshly prepared food and fairly traded goods from around the world. The lofty 12th century arcades and part of a Jesse window make this one of York's most beautiful restaurants.
